Non-Invasive Ventilation

Course Details

A thorough overview of nursing patients requiring non-invasive ventilation. This session focuses particularly on the mechanisms of normal breathing and when non-invasive ventilation becomes beneficial or in some cases essential to a patient’s quality of life.

Who is This Course for?

Trained nurses who have a requirement to care for patients requiring non-invasive ventilation as part of their job role.

What Will the Course Cover?

  • Anatomy and physiology of the lungs and respiratory tract
  • The mechanisms of breathing in health and illness
  • The different types of non-invasive ventilation and how they work
  • Simple troubleshooting methods

Pre-Course Requirements

Experience in caring for/exposure to patients requiring non-invasive ventilation, or an interest in enhancing your clinical skills.

How Will the Course be Taught?

Face-to-face delivery in a group, involving some group work or work in pairs, utilising our state-of-the-art simulation mannequin to demonstrate and practise clinical skills.
