There are so many different ways you can get involved and support the important work of Dr Kershaw’s Hospice. From donating goods, supporting us with your services, to donating items to our Hospice shops, or supporting us whilst you shop online. However you decide to help us, please know your support is vital for our Hospice and helps us to keep our doors open every day.
How you can help
Your donation of goods
We are always grateful for the donation of items that we can use as prizes for raffles, these should be new and unopened. Here are some examples of goods we can use:
- Bottles – Wine, beer, spirits, soft drinks, etc.
- Gift Sets – Perfume, aftershave, cooking, etc.
- Electricals – Any working home electricals.
- Toys – We can accept any new toys to sell in our shops.
- Jewellery – Unused jewellery or sets.
This list isn’t exhaustive but it gives you an idea of the types of things we can use to generate funds.

Donating your services
Some individuals and small companies cannot necessarily afford to make a cash donation to the Hospice but want to support us in some way. If you have a skill we can use, we’d be delighted to accept the donation of your time and services in lieu of money.
Recently, we had a kind offer from City Building Engineering Services to refurbish our Café for free as a donation. Whether you’re a painter and decorator or a web designer, we can make use of your skills to help save us money. If you think your business could support our Hospice, give us a call on 0161 624 9984 and we would be happy to talk you through how you can best support us and our patients.
Donate to our shops
Our Hospice Shops rely on the generosity of our community and help to create regular income for our Hospice and our patients.
From clothes and books to furniture and household electricals, each item donated can be sold to raise vital funds.
Donate while you shop
Whilst you are doing your online shopping, did you know that you could be raising funds for Dr Kershaw’s at no cost to yourself? Many online shopping websites enable you to support Dr Kershaw’s Hospice including Easy Fundraising and Give as You Live. By signing up to support Dr Kershaw’s Hospice and doing your shopping through these sites, a small percentage of your online spending will be donated to our Hospice.
You can also support us when you list your own items on eBay and Vinted. Click on ‘Support a Charity’ when you are completing your listing to donate any percentage of your sales to the Hospice!
